Vessel Load form
Prerequisites
To access this form, you need to assign the Vessel - Load privilege to your user role.
The Vessel Load form enables you to load units on a vessel. Generally, XPS manages the vessel load operations. Occasionally, it may miss a vessel activity that the operations department at your facility must complete using this form. You can also use this form to manually load a vessel for non-XPS operations.
To load a unit to a vessel:
From the Visit Reference lookup field, select a vessel visit.
The lookup field displays only vessel visits that are either in the Arrived or Working phase.
In the Digits field, enter the last five to seven characters of the container ID that uniquely identify the container, or enter the entire container ID.
The selected unit must:
Be in the yard.
Have the selected vessel visit as the intended outbound carrier.
Not have any active holds or required permissions that prevent the unit from being loaded.
In the Stow Position field, enter the stow position of the unit on the selected vessel visit.
Optionally, select the Attach Chassis check box to keep the chassis attached to the container when loading the container onto the vessel.
When you select the Attach Chassis check box, N4 loads the unit without dismounting it from the chassis.
Click Save.
When you load a unit on a vessel, N4:
Records a UNIT_LOAD event in the event history of the unit.
You can view the event using the History, Events tab in the Unit Inspector. The UNIT_LOAD event traces the previous and new Position of the selected unit.
Sets the transit state of the selected unit as Loaded.
Removes the unit from the list on the Load List tab in the Vessel Inspector for the selected vessel visit.
Adds the unit to the list on the On-Board tab in the Vessel Inspector.
Notes
The Attach Chassis check box is unselected, by default. However, once you select the check box, N4 retains the selection, unless you clear it manually or you close and re-open the Vessel Load form.
